This makes three years in which the franchise has not won a playoff series, or even a single game. They have remained without victories in the playoffs during their short franchise history (from 1995 up to now). Following the 2006 NBA Draft, Shane Battier was traded to Houston for their 1st round pick, Rudy Gay and Stromile Swift (the former Memphis Grizzly). He was the only player, who had played for Vancouver (before 2001 the franchise was named the Vancouver Grizzlies). When the team started the 2006-07 season with 6 wins in their first 30 games, the team’s head coach Fratello was fired (on December, 28, 2006) and replaced by Tony Barone, Sr. He was the Grizzlies' player personnel director and had never coached any of the NBA games.
