The clinching game was win No. 17 of a winning streak that threatened the all-time record before eventually ending in Chicago at 27 straight. Although the Heat experienced a tremendous regular season, it is clear that the team’s main objective remains another Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy. The Heat have experienced impressive success in the postseason as of late, including five straight playoff berths and two consecutive Eastern Conference championships. Last season, the team shut down Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden en route to defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder, 4-1, in a thrilling 2012 NBA Finals behind dominant efforts from the team’s own “Big Three.”
The Milwaukee Bucks will be the team’s opponent in the first round of the playoffs, which will be a best-of-seven series. The Heat beat the Bucks in three of the teams’ four regular season meetings, but anything is possible in the postseason, especially with Milwaukee’s sharpshooting backcourt of Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings. If Miami is to advance through the Eastern Conference to a third consecutive NBA Finals, they may have to get past the Chicago Bulls in the second round in a series that would offer the Heat a chance at revenge against the team that earlier in the season snapped their historic winning streak at 27 games. Be there live at American Airlines Arena to see all the action by purchasing Heat playoff tickets to see LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh attempt to bring Miami its third title in eight years.
