Hornets Ticket Update - Jan 07

Due to the damage that was caused by Hurricane Katrina, the New Orleans Hornets were temporarily relocated to Oklahoma City, which is in Oklahoma State, for the previous season and part of 2006-2007 season.

In the 1st round of the 2006 NBA Draft New Orleans selected Hilton Armstrong and Cedric Simmons, and later Marcus Vinicius from Brazil in the 2nd round. During the offseason, the franchise made several important changes in the roster in hope of advancing to the Western Conference postseason for the first time in their history. The New Orleans Hornets traded J.R. Smith and P.J. Brown to Chicago in exchange for Tyson Chandler. They also inked a contract with Peja Stojakovic from Indiana.

The New Orleans Hornets finished the 2005-2006 season with 0.463% (38 wins versus 44 losses). The current season started even worse for the team, as it is presently only 0.389% with 8-10 at home and 6-12 on the road.

Now the Hornets are sure to return to New Orleans full-time in the 2007-08 season, because the Seattle SuperSonics were purchased by a group of OKC businessmen, so the Sonics will eventually end up in Oklahoma. Moreover, the NBA showed much support for the Hornets staying in New Orleans and awarded the city the 2008 NBA All-Star Game.

Coached by Byron Scott, the New Orleans Hornets beat the Washington Wizards with 104-97 on January 12, 2007. Though being injury-depleted, the Hornets demonstrated a stunning game. Desmond Mason scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Brown added a season-high 19 points and career-best nine assists, and Arenas racked up 23 points.
