Part of the reason was that they were trying out a new kind of offense, in which they played a half-court centered game with Shaq as the anchor. This year, however, they will be going back to their previous model of “run-and-gun.” Their style is fast and furious! With Steve Nash leading this team, all the other players look like All-Stars and create scoring opportunities, both for himself and for others. He could even win another MVP if his numbers improve compared to last year. During last season, they brought in Jason Richardson, who shoots well and plays this rapid-fire style of basketball like few others. Other players, like Stoudemire, Hill, Barbosa, and Clark, are consistently effective on offense and will give this team a great chance to go deep into the playoffs.
