The Huskies are the NCAA Division 1-A football team of Northern Illinois University. They are members of the Mid-American Conference as part of the West Division. The Huskies, dressed in their traditional black and cardinal uniform, can be seen at the Huskie Stadium in Dekalb, Illionois chanting their anthem, the ‘Huskie Fight Song’. They have the distinction of winning 9 football conference titles and 1 division title. Consequently, they have an all time impressive win mark of over .500 and have accumulated more than 400 wins. They had an ordinary 2008 season and signed new head coach Jerry Kill.
For their 2009 season, they play Minnesota in a tough match at Minneapolis on September 30, 2008. After playing 12 games throughout the season, they wrap it up by taking on Navy at their home ground in Dekalb. The six home games at the Huskie Stadium and the games at Minnesota and Tennessee are the highlights of the season. They are very strong title contenders this year and Coach Kill promises a great season.
