As a part of the Big Ten Conference, the Penn State Nittany Lions are one of the mostly successful teams. The Lions 1999 seasons proved to be one of their best. Ending the season with a 10-3 record, the team ranked 8th out of 114 teams. In 2000 and 2001, the Lions only won five games, losing seven in 2000 and six in 2001. At the end of the 2002 season, the Lions were back to the success they had in 1999. The team finished with a 9-4 record and a rank of 19th out of 117. In 2003, the Lions experienced their worst season. With a 3-9 record, the Lions ranked only 85th out of 118. Though 2004 was a new season, the Lions did not make much improvement. The season ended with a 4-7 record.
However, the 2005 season proved that the Penn State Nittany Lions were ready for a come back. The team ended a great season with an 11-1 record, ranking 3rd out of 119 teams. This is the closest Penn State has come to having a perfect season. In both 2006 and 2007, the Lions rounded out with a 9-4 record. Support the Penn State Nittany Lions!
