This year’s Sun Devils will look quite different from last season’s 10-21 squad that finished 4-10 in the Pac-12. The transfer of Trent Lockett means Carrick Felix, a 6-6 wing, is ASU's returning leading scorer. Also, six new scholarship players will have a role, including sensational point guard Jahii Carson, who sat out last season as a non-qualifier. This has led coach Herb Sendek to mention that the team could average 70 points per game this season. If that pans out to be true, along with Sendak’s commitment to play a high-tempo game, then ASU could shock the Pac-12. The new face can really make an impact from the start. ASU already has a quick point guard in Jahii Carson, one of the Pac-12's better point guards, who can push the tempo and score, and now Chris Colvin can run with him. Colvin, a juco transfer, is quick and crafty, and has the ability to get in the lane and create. Bo Barnes, a 6-4 guard who transferred to ASU from Hawaii, can spread the floor, as he shot 38.8 percent from 3-point range en route to making more threes than any other freshman in school history. Transfer Evan Gordon, a 6-1 guard, averaged 14.4 points as a sophomore at Liberty, and provides more shooting touch and the ability to create.
