ACC basketball fans are in for a treat as the traditional 16-game schedule will be scrapped this season in favor of an additional two games to help teams prepare for the impending inclusion of new teams into the conference. As a result, the 2012-13 Virginia Tech basketball schedule will feature two games each against Maryland, Wake Forest, Virginia, Clemson, Duke, Miami, and Georgia Tech. The Hokies also will host Boston College and Florida State, in addition to non-conference foes Iowa, Oklahoma State, Virginia Military Institute, and Rhode Island. Regardless of the opponent, Vivid Seats will be your source for affordable 2012-13 Virginia Tech basketball tickets all year long.
The upcoming season also will feature a familiar face in a new role as the Hokies hired former Virginia Tech associate head coach, James Johnson, to the head position at the conclusion of the 2011-12 campaign. Johnson has been with the program for five seasons and boasts 19 years of coaching experience, which includes stints at George Mason, Penn State, College of Charleston, and Elon.
