When the clock struck 12:01 a.m. on July 1, the West Virginia Mountaineers officially become members of the Big 12 Conference. The change marks plenty of challenges for the squad, but even more excitement about the future. Thankfully, the transition should be a smooth one, thanks to returning veterans like Kevin Jones, Darryl "Truck'' Bryant, and Deniz Kilicla. Also, the Mountaineers shouldn’t have a tough time adapting, considering that they have the distinct benefit of Head Coach Bob Huggins on their sideline. In 26 years, Huggins has posted a 620-227 record and led his squads to the NCAA Tournament 19 times, with 2 Final Four appearances. The mountaineers are set to start the season competing in the 2012 ESPN tip off marathon at midnight at Gonzaga. It will be a great atmosphere and it will be a rematch from the second round of last year’s NCAA Tournament, where Gonzaga won 77-54.
