2011 Baylor Football Has High Hopes for Quarterback, Robert Griffin
Baylor's Robert Griffin III may be the finest sophomore quarterback in NCAA football. The physically-gifted Griffin quietly put up some incredible numbers this year, while leading the Bears to their first bowl game appearance in 16 years. The 20-year-old passed for over 3,000 yards and rushed for almost 600 yards this past season. Griffin’s legend was born two years ago in Waco, when the then freshmen helped the Bears upset in-state rival Texas A&M 41-21. The young star was injured in the third game of the season last year, but was able to obtain a medical redshirt. more
Healthy and determined, Griffin gained notoriety nationwide this past fall for his performances against Colorado and in-state giant Texas. The Bears’ victory over Texas marked the first time Baylor had won in Austin in almost two decades.
