Joker Phillips Has Team Ready to Compete in 2012

Following a disappointing regular season, third-year head coach Joker Phillips wasted no time in having his Kentucky Wildcats begin preparing for spring ball and the 2012 slate, which will be just as demanding as in years past. After taking on in-state rival Louisville (9/2) to open the season, the Wildcats will welcome Kent State (9/8) and Western Kentucky (9/15) to Commonwealth Stadium before the full-fledged start of the SEC lineup. Fans making the trip to Lexington with Kentucky Wildcats football tickets from Vivid Seats will have the opportunity to cheer on the squad during marquee matchups against South Carolina (9/29), Mississippi State (10/6), Georgia (10/20), and Vanderbilt (11/3). UK will conclude its home and non-conference schedule against Samford on Nov. 17.

In the offseason, two former Wildcats were drafted by NFL teams, while four others secured contracts. Chosen in the sixth round were Winston Guy (Seattle) and Danny Trevathan (Denver), while Anthony Mosley (San Francisco 49ers), Matt Roark (New England Patriots), Ronnie Sneed (Detroit Lions), and Ryan Tydlacka (Philadelphia Eagles) all signed as undrafted free agents with their respective teams.
