2008 Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns InformationThe Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns have not proved to be the best NCAA football team, their record wins being only six. In 1999, an Independent Conference, the Ragin Cajuns won two games and lost nine, giving them a rank of 105th out of 114 teams. In 2000, the Cajuns only won one game during the whole season. The team placed 115th out of 116. 2001 proved to be a slight increase in statistics, giving the team a rank of 108th out of 117, ending the season with a 3-8 record. Also in 2001, the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns joined the Sun Belt Conference. In 2002 the team again only won three games. In 2003 and 2004, the Cajuns won four games, showing a slight improvement. In 2005 and 2006, the team finished with record of 6-5 and 6-6. In 2007, the team’s improvement diminished, only winning three games and losing nine. Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns coach Rickey Bustle hopes that the signing of 23 new players will heighten the success of his team.
