Sign up for savings, info, and more!Since the 2010 season, fans that have purchased Nebraska football tickets have had the pleasure of watching quarterback Taylor Martinez lead the high-powered Cornhuskers offense, and they will get one more chance to do so in 2013. In his three years as the team’s starting QB, Martinez has passed for nearly 7,000 yards, rushed for nearly 3,000 yards, and accounted for 77 total touchdowns while leading the team’s seamless transition from the Big 12 Conference to its new home in the Big Ten. After an impressive 10-4 campaign in 2012, Martinez will return to Lincoln to guide the team through a challenging 2013 Nebraska football schedule to put the finishing touches on his illustrious college career.
Joining the veteran quarterback in the backfield will be the Huskers’ returning starter at running back, Ameer Abdullah, whose breakout sophomore season included over 1,100 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. When Martinez wants to carve up opposing defenses through the air, he will often target Kenny Bell, a speedy touchdown machine who hauled in eight touchdown passes last year while snagging a total of 50 passes for an incredible average of over 17 yards per catch. Nebraska will also welcome a Rivals.com top-20 recruiting class, which may include the successor at quarterback, a position that has been tied up since Martinez arrived on campus years ago.
