2009 North Carolina Tar Heels Season InformationJohn Bunting, former Tar Heels coach, was relieved of his duties immediately after the 2006 football season due to the poor presentation received from the team after their seventh game played, and seventh game lost together. They seemed to feel that was the year for them to receive their national recognition. He was replaced for the 2007 season by Butch Davis, bringing in friends from the Oakland Raiders and Nebraska’s Defensive Line Coach, a fabled great in the world of recruiting.
