2009 North Carolina Tar Heels Season Information

John Bunting, former Tar Heels coach, was relieved of his duties immediately after the 2006 football season due to the poor presentation received from the team after their seventh game played, and seventh game lost together. They seemed to feel that was the year for them to receive their national recognition. He was replaced for the 2007 season by Butch Davis, bringing in friends from the Oakland Raiders and Nebraska’s Defensive Line Coach, a fabled great in the world of recruiting. The Tar Heels still did not show much respect in the preseason rankings in 2007, they did take notice in the recent staffing changes.

Though they are not exactly the highest ranking team in the conference, there was definitely an improvement to be seen as they did manage three of eight conference games, and four of twelve overall. The exercises this year will mimic the training exercises last year including elements of both game and practice for a 90 minute period. Gearing up for the 2008 season of play, we hope that the improvements that we saw last year will not plateau, but lead us into greatness moving into 2009. Join the crowd and see the North Carolina Tar Heels turn their team into a legend by choosing your seat on the Kenan Memorial Stadium seating chart available on vividseats.com.
