Golden Domers are already loading up on 2011 Notre Dame tickets as the Fighting Irish prepare to play in the Sun Bowl on December 31st. Head coach Brian Kelly and his staff are presently focused on defeating the Miami Hurricanes in El Paso on New Year’s Eve, but Irish fans already have their minds on next year. Kelly may not have immediately turned Notre Dame into one of NCAA football’s elite teams in his first season in South Bend, but the Irish did show significant signs of improvement. more
ND finished the regular season with three convincing victories over Utah, Army, and USC. Kelly could not have endeared himself to Notre Dame fans in a better way than leading the team to a victory over the Trojans. Notre Dame had not defeated Southern Cal in nine years. Quarterback Dayne Crist became more comfortable with Kelly’s offense as the year progressed and has the potential to put up big numbers in 2011. The Irish will be tough team to beat next fall.
