2008 San Jose State Spartans Season Information
Through the San Jose State Spartans history, they have always been a part of the WAC Conference. In 1999 the Spartans finished their season with a 3-7 record, placing 96th out of 114. In 2000, the team seemed to do a little flip-flop, winning seven games and losing five, upping their rank to 67th out of 116. In 2001 the Spartans dropped again, ending with a 3-9 record. In 2002 they finished with a 6-7 record, their second best up to 2007. In 2003, 2004, and 2005 the Spartans weren’t as successful as they were in 2002, winning only three games in 2003 and two in 2004, and three again in 2005.

However in 2006, the Spartans changed this. They finished their season with a solid 9-4 record, their best in their team’s history. In 2006 the team placed 54th out of 119. In 2007 the success of the team was not as high, winning only five games and losing five. For the 2008 season, San Jose Spartans head coach Dick Tomey welcomes back 43 of his teams’ letterwinners.
