Clowney’s hit helped the Gamecocks overcome a late deficit to win a thrilling game, which capped off a stellar 11-2 season. Fans who purchase South Carolina football tickets for the 2013 season can look forward to seeing more highlight-reel plays from this unstoppable defensive lineman, who finished sixth in Heisman Trophy voting last season as a sophomore after leading the nation’s 13th ranked scoring defense.
Clowney isn’t the only one that teams will have to prepare for this season— opponents on the 2013 South Carolina football schedule will again have to worry about Connor Shaw, a dual-threat quarterback who can beat teams with his arm—17 passing touchdowns in 2012—and legs—435 rushing yards. Also returning for the offense is Bruce Ellington, a deep threat with dangerous top-end speed who had seven touchdowns last season while catching 50 balls for an impressive average of 15 yards per catch. With plenty of returning talent, the Gamecocks will certainly be a team to watch in the SEC in 2013.
