Falcons Add Pro Bowlers Jackson and Umenyiora for 2013 Season

The Atlanta Falcons finished the 2012 season with an impressive 13-3 record, and though they fell in the NFC Championship game, the franchise recognized that it’s on the cusp of something great. With sights set on making it to Super Bowl 2014, Atlanta went out and signed former Pro Bowlers, RB Steven Jackson and DE Osi Umenyiora, to help get the job done. Jackson, who’s the NFL’s active leader in rushing yards (10,135), brings his versatile attack to the ATL as replacement for the released Michael Turner, while Umenyiora brings his New York Giants Super Bowl experience over to replace the released John Abraham. Combined, Jackson and Umenyiora boast five Pro Bowl selections, and when they’re listed alongside current Falcons like QB Matt Ryan, WR Julio Jones, WR Roddy White, and TE Tony Gonzalez, Atlanta’s dream to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy looks as promising as ever.

The Falcons 2013 schedule is stacked with stellar matchups all season long, beginning in Week 1 when Atlanta will hit the road to take on the New Orleans Saints in the latest installment of this heated NFC South rivalry (Sept. 8.) Next up, Atlanta will come home to the Georgia Dome to host the St. Louis Rams in its home opener on Sept. 15, and as the year progresses, Atlanta will hit the gridiron to take on some of the league’s toughest competition. Throughout the NFL season, fans that purchase Falcons tickets can see them take on squads like the New England Patriots (Sept. 29), Seattle Seahawks (Nov. 10), Green Bay Packers (Dec. 8), Washington Redskins (Dec. 15), and a much-anticipated rematch against the San Francisco 49ers (Dec. 23). The Falcons will take their BYE week in Week 6, and the final game of the season will be a home game against the Carolina Panthers on Dec. 29.

Matty Ice Leads Falcons to 2013 NFC Championship Game

Coming into last Sunday’s Divisional Round playoff matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, much of the story around the game had to with the fact that the Falcons’ dup of quarterback Matt Ryan and Head Coach Mike Smith were 0-3 in the playoffs. Despite the team earning a first round bye, many were still questioning if the tandem had the fortitude to bring one home, and though the team looked in trouble after losing a 20-point lead in the fourth quarter, a game-winning field goal by kicker Matt Bryant saved the day. Now the focus can go on the stellar performance by Ryan, who completed 24 passes for 250 yards and franchise playoff record-tying three touchdowns en route to leading the Falcons to their first playoff win since 2004. With the victory, they are set to welcome the San Francisco 49ers to the Georgia Dome for the 2013 NFC championship game this upcoming Sunday.

With a trip to Super Bowl XLVII on the line, it’s safe to say that NFC Championship Game tickets will be the hot item in Atlanta and this will certainly be the biggest game of Ryan’s career. But after finishing the season at 13-3 and going 34-6 at home in his career, Falcons fans should be plenty confident. The game was future Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez’s first playoff victory in 16 seasons, and his team will have to play their best against a white-hot 49ers squad if he hopes to send out 2013 Super Bowl tickets to his family for the first time. Last week San Francisco maimed the Green Bay Packers, 45-31, as QB Colin Kaepernick amassed four touchdowns and ran for 181 yards in his playoff debut. Kickoff for the game is set for 3:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, January 20th, and we’ve got all the Atlanta Falcons playoff tickets and San Francisco 49ers playoff tickets for you to be one of the lucky cheering inside the Georgia Dome for this phenomenal playoff matchup.

No. 1 Seed Falcons Get Date with Surging Seahawks

It’s been a dominant regular season for Atlanta once again, as the Falcons tied for the league’s best record with a 13-3 mark en route to earning the top seed and home-field advantage throughout the postseason. First up will be the Seattle Seahawks who pulled off a tough road win at Washington, 24-14, to advance to Sunday’s divisional round on Jan. 13. Check out the stock above for 2013 Atlanta Falcons playoff tickets and find affordable seats for inside the sprawling Georgia Dome.

The Falcons are no stranger to the postseason, having advanced four times in the past five years, though they’ve only tallied two conference championship appearances and one win back in 1998. The upcoming game with Seattle will mark the 14th overall meeting between the two squads, who last met in 2011, with Atlanta edging the Seahawks, 30-28. Be there throughout the postseason ride with Super Bowl 2013 tickets on sale now for the Feb. 3 event of the year in New Orleans.

NFC South Locked Up for Falcons

While Houston and New England have been dominating much of the AFC conversation, over in the NFC, no team has come close to the kind of year the Atlanta Falcons have put together. An eight-game win streak to start the season was key to easily running away with the division, as the other three foes in the NFC South don't even have a winning record. Ranked in the top 20 in both offensive and defensive categories, passing yards (4th) and opponent passing yards (16th), you can bet Matt Ryan and company will be ready to go in the New Year.

With just two road losses logged, it's a guarantee the Falcons will be making an appearance in the elusive postseason at the Georgia Dome. Book your Atlanta Falcons tickets early with our fully stocked selection available now in the marketplace. You'll also have an opportunity to scoop up Super Bowl 2013 tickets as well for the sporting event of the year on Feb. 3 at the Superdome in New Orleans.
