Cowboys News

Cowboys Hope for Return to Health, Playoffs

Though the 2012 campaign was marred by injuries, the Dallas Cowboys still just narrowly missed out on a playoff berth after falling to the Washington Redskins in Week 17. This year, hopes are high in Big D, as the return of several key players from injury could help establish continuity on both sides of the ball. The return of running back DeMarco Murray from a foot ailment should help bolster a rushing attack that ranked 31st in the league in 2012. Head coach Jason Garrett will surely hope the addition of Murray to an offense that ranked third in passing last year will result in a balanced and explosive attack.

The defensive unit should benefit from the return of key starters Sean Lee, Jay Ratliff, and Barry Church, all of whom missed at least 10 games last season. The acquisitions of likely starters in linebacker Justin Durant and safety Will Allen should help make the team’s transition to a 4-3 defense a smooth one.

The Cowboys 2013 schedule is bookended by home games against divisional rivals, with the New York Giants heading to Arlington on Sept. 8 and the Philadelphia Eagles visiting Cowboys Stadium on Dec. 29. For your chance to watch “America’s Team" live inside the team’s state-of-the-art venue, purchase Cowboys tickets from Vivid Seats.

Cowboys Seek Redemption and Playoffs Versus Redskins

Many athletes will tell you that there is nothing quite as sweet as redemption for a tough loss, and many others can tell you there is nothing worse than never getting the opportunity to earn it. For the Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Tony Romo, the chance to earn redemption for losing earlier in the season to their rival, as well as the chance for Romo to prove he is a clutch QB, is set to come this Sunday. Being that it is the last game of the season with their playoff hopes on the line, against their historic divisional rival Washington Redskins, America’s Team’s can certainly claim their redemption. Dallas (8-7) is coming off of a snapped three-game win streak, which came in a 34-31 overtime loss to New Orleans, but they still look incredibly tough to beat. On the other side, they’ll have to face a red-hot Redskins (9-6) squad that have won six in a row.

The Cowboys lost to Washington 38-31 on Thanksgiving, and will travel to FedEx Field with the season on the line. It’s the second year in a row their playoff fate is on the line in Week 17, but the recent play of Romo and wide receiver Dez Bryant should provide plenty of optimism. Since the loss to the Redskins, Romo has been on fire, stacking up 1,328 yards and 10 touchdowns with only one interception. And no one has been as hot as Bryant, who has, over the same span, pulled in ten 10 touchdowns and 808 yards. He has posted a touchdown in seven consecutive games and currently boasts 12 touchdowns, which is good for second in the NFL. This game is surely the game of the week, so get your Dallas Cowboys tickets now and be there to support the Cowboys in their playoff push.

Cowboys Look to Bounce Back

Dallas started the 2012 season on a high note, edging the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants on the road in the opener, but one month into the season, the Cowboys finished at .500 following a loss to the Chicago Bears in week four. Dallas fans know the season is still young though, as plenty more matchups remain including a slew of notable squads scheduled for showdowns at Cowboys Stadium. After several weeks on the road, Dallas will return home for a re-match with the Giants on Oct. 28, and will host the other two NFC East rivals Washington (Nov. 22) and Philadelphia (Dec. 2) in the following months as well. Purchase your Dallas Cowboys tickets all season long from the Vivid Seats marketplace well-stocked for the remainder of the regular season.

Through four weeks, Tony Romo is 101-for-151 passing to total 1,148 yards and five touchdowns. DeMarco Murray has led the rushing attack, converting on 61 carries for 237 yards, while on the receiving end, Dez Bryant (21 receptions), Miles Austin (18), and Jason Witten (21) have all been preferred targets for Romo thus far.
