Broncos News

Welker Signs with Broncos for 2013 Season

The Denver Broncos were the talk of the 2012 offseason when they signed future Hall of Fame QB Peyton Manning, and they became the talk of 2013 by adding WR Wes Welker. The five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver signed a two-year, $12 million contract to become Manning’s prime target after spending six years as Tom Brady’s No. 1 option with the New England Patriots, upping Denver’s chances to play in the Super Bowl in 2014. Manning has proven to be a master at utilizing every option available, and with Welker coming on as arguably the top slot receiver in the NFL, Broncos fans should be excited to see Manning incorporate him into an already thrilling receiving core of Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas. Denver racked up a 13-3 record in 2012, and though the squad ultimately fell to the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Divisional playoffs, Welker will surely make things easier on everyone and could very well be the final piece they need to win it all this year.

When fans eager to purchase Broncos tickets imagined what the Broncos 2013 schedule would look like, it’s unlikely that even the most fanciful pictured the incredible slate of matchups that are on tap. The Broncos begin their NFL season with a rematch against the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens in front of what’s sure to be a sell-out crowd inside Mile High Stadium on Sept. 5. Then, Denver will play Eli Manning and the New York Giants (Sept. 15), and the Dallas Cowboys (Oct. 6), before Manning makes his long-awaited return to Lucas Oil Stadium to face Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts (Oct. 20). Denver’s BYE is in Week 9, followed by AFC rivalry games against the San Diego Chargers (Nov. 10) and Kansas City Chiefs (Nov. 17), before Welker graces the opposing team sideline in Foxborough, Mass., for a much-anticipated showdown with the New England Patriots on Nov. 24. The Broncos will round things out in grand fashion by taking on the Houston Texans (Dec. 22), and Oakland Raiders in the regular-season finale on Dec.29.

Top-Seeded Broncos to Take on Fourth-Seeded Ravens

For the first time since 2010, Peyton Manning will be competing in the postseason. His triumphant return with the Denver Broncos led to a 13-3 finish for the squad, an AFC West title, and a first-round bye in the playoffs. Many had hoped to see a rematch with Manning’s former team, the Indianapolis Colts, but alas, the fourth-seeded Baltimore Ravens claimed victory and earned the trip to Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Saturday, Jan. 12. Stock up on 2013 Denver Broncos playoff tickets by accessing the listings above.

The Broncos defeated the Ravens, 34-17, on Dec. 16 in the only meeting of the season between the two squads. The Broncos are competing in the postseason for the second straight, but have not won a conference championship since 1998. Should Manning and company advance to New Orleans, Vivid Seats will have your Super Bowl 2013 tickets for the exciting conclusion at the Superdome.

Denver Cruises to AFC West Title

There was much uncertainty when the season began, as many were unsure how Peyton Manning would perform following a neck injury that almost ended his career for good. Though two early losses to Atlanta and Houston didn't help, those fears are all a distant memory now, however, as the Broncos easily clinched the battered division that includes three other sub-.500 teams. Collectively, the Broncos rank in the top 10 in three key categories including sixth in passing yards and opponent rushing yards, and seventh in opponent passing yards.

A spot in the postseason is all locked up so secure your Denver Broncos tickets ahead of the crowd before playoff madness hits Sports Authority Field at Mile High. For those set on heading to New Orleans in February, begin your shopping now with our great selection of Super Bowl 2013 tickets for the NFL's big moment at the Superdome you won't want to miss.
