Packers Roster Remains Strong for 2013 NFL Season

After a successful season that included a division title, the Green Bay Packers return in 2013 determined to capture another Super Bowl title. In the offseason, the Packers lost two veteran wide receivers, Donald Driver to retirement and Greg Jennings to the bitter rival, Minnesota Vikings. On the plus, the Packers retained top performers like Randall Cobb and James Jones, in addition to the always dependable Aaron Rodgers—who dominated the 2012 season with 4,295 passing yards, 39 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions. Linebacker Clay Matthews, who was named All-Pro for the second time in 2012, has extended his contract with Green Bay through 2014, maintaining the squad’s defensive strength.

The Packers 2013 schedule is one of the most balanced in the league, as the squad will never play two consecutive away games all season.  Still, the Packers will open the season with a vengeance on Sept. 8, traveling west to face the San Francisco 49ers in the hopes of avenging last year’s loss in the playoffs. In Week 2, the home opener will bring the Washington Redskins to Lambeau Field on Sept. 15. Division rivals will be out in full force once again, such as the Vikings (Oct. 27), Chicago Bears (Nov. 4), and Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 28). The final game of the year will take place on Dec. 29 in Chicago, and has the potential for postseason implications for both teams. Green Bay faithful know how to provide a true home-field advantage, so buy Packers tickets and be there to cheer along in person on game day.
