About the Minnesota Vikings

The Purple People eaters of the seventies destroyed opposing offenses with brute force and relentless pursuit. In the Vikings new era, they should be called the Purple People Beaters. With Daunte Culpepper at the helm the Vikings have gone from a stingy defensive and conservative offensive team to one of the most explosive offenses in league with a defense that creates turnovers. Culpepper, in his sixth year, is turining into the clutch-pocket passing quarterback he was promised to be. With Randy Moss as a target, it must be harder than it looks. As the most explosive wide receiver in the NFL, Moss has amassed 8,402 yards and 78 touchdowns in his first six years, both NFL records. With a healthy Michael Bennet, a running back threat that can break a long run on any given play, the Vikes look to tear up opposing defenses in 2004.

On Defense the Viking have been able to take the ball away from opposing teams. Weather its a forced fumble from pro-bowl tackle Chris Hovan, or an interception by Corey Chavous, other teams have a hard time keeping their offense on the field with this defense on the opposite side of the ball. In the offseason the Vikings drafted defensive end Kenechi Udeze with their first round pick, a move that will surely make their pass rush that much better. On both sides of the ball ticket holders and fans will have plenty to get exited about when they enter the Metrodome on Sunday.

Metrodome - Minneapolis, MN

Speaking of the Metrodome, fans will enjoy plenty of wins while they watch their high powered offense. In 22 seasons the Vikings have posted a 118-63 record at their home, far above the NFL average. Considered the loudest stadium in the NFL on account of its close quarters, the Metrodome seats 64,000 fans that can view replays on two giant Sony Jumbotrons. Host to Super Bowl 26, fans and ticket holders will relish their days inside the Metrodome from either the grandstand or the 115 executive suites.
