After a trying 2012 season, the Oakland Raiders will be looking to new addition Matt Flynn to help anchor an offense that has struggled in the past. Veteran Carson Palmer had taken over the reins a year ago, recording 4,018 yards on 345-for-565 passing, but it appears the Oakland front office will likely pursue a new direction on offense. Despite impending changes and the release of several players, the squad made sure to hold on to star running back Darren McFadden, who will once again be looked upon to lead the offense after posting a team-high 707 yards rushing and two touchdowns in 2012.
The Raiders will travel to Indianapolis for the 2013 season opener against the Colts on Sept. 8, followed by the first home game of the year at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on Sept. 15 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Raiders defense will need to remain steadfast throughout the core of the slate, as they’re set to host offensive powerhouses like the Washington Redskins (Sept. 29), New York Giants (Nov. 10), and Houston Texans (Nov. 17). Fans can tune into a pair of nationally televised games on the Raiders 2013 schedule, which will feature matchups against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football (Sept. 23), as well as a Thursday night meeting with the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 28. Purchase Raiders tickets and be there as the season comes to a close with a rematch against the AFC West champion Broncos on Dec. 29.
