About the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Last year the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a disappointing season after coming off a Super Bowl victory over the Oakland Raiders. A team that was considered one of the best defenses in the league became just an average unit. Coach John Gruden hopes to change all of that. While they lost Warren Sapp to the Raiders in the off-season, The Buccaneers acquired Greg Spires to help them with the pass rush. Corners Brian Kelly and Ronde Barber will give opposing quarterbacks headaches whether they blitz the outside or pick off ill-advised throws.

Gruden, being an offensive minded coach reached back to his old Oakland franchise for a reliable running back and received Charlie Garner. Although undersized and aging, Garner possesses rare speed on the outside and is one of the best pass-catching running backs in the NFL. Combine his talents with his knowledge of Grudens offense, and Garner should make an immediate impact in 2004. Brad Johnson returns at quarterback and hopes to repeat his fantastic 2002 season where he had the best quarterback rating in the league. As an insurance policy, the Buccaneers snatched Brian Griese from the Dolphins in case the aging Johnson goes down unexpectedly.

Raymond James Stadium - Tampa Bay, FL

Raymond James stadium, constructed in 1996 is one of the best stadiums in the NFL. With 65,000-seats; 12,000 of them being club seats, and almost 200 luxury suites fans of all types will have a blast at Raymond James. The highlight of the stadium is the Pirates cove, a 3 million dollar replica of a nineteenth century pirate village located in the north end zone. Fans will be able to view the game from a 103 foot long replica of a pirate ship that shoots blank cannon rounds whenever the team scores. Ticket holders should be very exited for 2004; with the off season additions and a point to prove that 2002 wasnt a fluke, the Buccaneers look to snatch some wins under the cover of darkness in the tumultuous ocean known as the NFL.
