Titans to Face Heavy Competition Throughout 2013 Slate
After going 6-10 and 1-5 against AFC South opponents last year, the Tennessee Titans have a lot to prove under third-year head coach Mike Munchak. The Titans released quarterback Matt Hasselbeck after last season, and have looked to 2011 first-round draft pick Jake Locker to step in as the starting quarterback as long as he stays healthy. During the 2012 season, Locker threw for 2,176 yards with 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Keep an eye on other key players such as running back Chris Johnson (1,243 yards, 6 touchdowns), receiver Kendall Wright (626 yards, 4 touchdowns) and Nate Washington (746 yards, 4 touchdowns).
The Titans 2013 schedule will give fans and players a taste of what they’re going to have to face to earn their first-ever Super Bowl title, and it doesn’t waste any time getting to the tough matchups. The year will open on the road at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 8, before heading south to face the AFC rival Houston Texans on Sept. 15. The Titans home opener will feature a contest against the San Diego Chargers on Sept. 22, in the first of three straight home games, which also includes clashes with the New York Jets (Sept. 29) and Kansas City Chiefs (Oct. 6). One notable game to keep an eye on will be a Thursday night showdown with the Indianapolis Colts at LP Field on Nov. 14. The regular season will come to a close on Dec. 29 in a home rematch with the Texans. You can witness the action live all season long with a purchase of Titans tickets today.
