In what is sure to be four months of unpredictable highs and lows during the shortened 2012-13 NHL season, one thing that is certain is the road to the postseason just got a whole lot more competitive. With just 48 games to play, the 2013 Detroit Red Wings schedule is sure to be grueling, as will be the case with most other teams, but that may also lead to more than a few thrillers with a playoff spot in sight nearly all season long. Every game counts, beginning Jan. 19, when the Red Wings open the year on the road against the St. Louis Blues, and two days later versus the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Three of the next four games will take place at Joe Louis Arena, including two against the Dallas Stars (Jan. 22, 29), and one against the Minnesota Wild (Jan. 25). The squad will hit the road one other time in January when they face esteemed rival, the Blackhawks, in Chicago on Jan. 27. A number of other notable opponents will come to town over the duration of the regular season, including the defending champion Los Angeles Kings (Feb. 10, April 24), San Jose Sharks (April 11), and the Nashville Predators (Feb. 23, April 25), who will mark the final home opponent before the postseason. Detroit will play at Dallas to close out the regular season on April 27. Fans can purchase 2013 Detroit Red Wings tickets all year long from the fully stocked Vivid Seats marketplace.
