Los Angeles Kings Newsletter - February 2007At the trade deadline, the Los Angeles Kings added Mark Parrish and defenseman Brent Sopel. The team fired head coach Andy Murray and replaced him with interim head coach John Torchetti. However, the moves turned out to be vain, as the team continued their losing ways. With three games left in the season, the team's all-time leading scorer Luc Robitaille announced that he would be retiring from professional hockey at the end of the season. Shortly after the regular season was finished, the club decided to continue with the changes and relieved President/Hockey Operations and General Manager Dave Taylor of his duties. Director of Player Personnel Bill O'Flaherty was fired as well. Later, interim head coach John Torchetti and assistant coaches Mark Hardy and Ray Bennett were also fired.
