A month later, the Los Angeles Kings signed a five-year contract with former San Jose general manager Dean Lombardi and appointed him to the position of their new President and GM.

At the beginning of 2007, the franchise signed contracts with Sean Burke and Jamie Lundmark.

At the end of January 2007, the Los Angeles Kings retired Luc Robitaille's jersey in an hour-long ceremony before the game with the Coyotes. In fact, it was the 5th LA Kings jersey to be retired by the team.
