2012 NHL All Star Game Coming To Ottawa

It's official! The 59th NHL All Star Game will be played at the Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario on January 29th. The game will mark the first time the hockey-loving town of Ottawa will host the NHL's annual All-Star exhibition. The game will coincide with the franchise's 20th year in the National Hockey League and will be highlighted by a number of exciting events throughout the week of the game. The NHL tried out a "fantasy team" All-Star Game format last season in Charlotte where two team captains picked teams themselves. Team Lindstrom bested Team Staal 11-10 in an exciting display of the league's goal-scoring prowess. However, it remains unclear if the coming All-Star Game will revert back to the traditional East vs. West format. Looking ahead, there are a few young players who have a good shot at playing themselves into a roster spot at the NHL All-Star Game this season. Those booking 2012 NHL All Star Game tickets might just see the Boston Bruins' teenage phenom Tyler Seguin, Calder Trophy finalist Michael Grabner of the New York Islanders, and San Jose Sharks defensive standout Logan Couture. With the NHL's best talent on display, this year's NHL All Star Game will be a watershed event for the proud franchise that is the Ottawa Senators.
