2013 Flyers Open Season Against Rival Pens on Jan. 19th

Everyone knows that one of the best things about sports are the rivalry games, and fresh of the NHL lockout, the league picked one of the sports most enjoyable matchups to help kick-start the condensed 48-game season. Pennsylvania sports one of the NHL’s best rivalries, and the opening game of the 2013 NHL season schedule pits the Flyers against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday, January 19th at 3:00 PM. The Flyers will certainly be hoping that the home crowd of Wells Fargo Center helps inspire them to get the season started off right, and with players like Claude Giroux in the home orange and white, a win is well within reason. Last season, the Flyers’ standout center amassed 28 goals and 37 assists in 77 games, and made no mistake that with the departure of Mike Richards and Jeff Carter, Philly was his team.

The Flyers are hoping to get off to a great start this year, and they’ll have some formidable foes to go beat if they hope to make the playoffs in this shortened season. They woll have back to back tough games against the New Jersey Devils on Jan. 22nd and against the New York Rangers on Jan. 24th. Then they’ll take on the Tampa Bay Lightning in a tough road match on Jan. 27th and the Washington Capitals on Feb, 1st. You can check out the 2013 Flyers schedule on our site to see all the games on tap, and be sure to claim your 2013 Philadelphia Flyers tickets as soon as you can to see them melt the ice live.
