Sharks Feb 2007 New UpdateDuring the 2006 playoffs, the San Jose Sharks were defeated by the Oilers in the Conference Semifinals (2-4). However, the previous season was not a complete disappointment for the team. Joe Thornton received the Hart Memorial Trophy as the league's Most Valuable Player, and the Art Ross Trophy for leading the league in points, with 125. He became the third player in 3 seasons, who won both the Hart and the Art Ross Awards the same year. Jonathan Cheechoo received the Richard Trophy for scoring the most goals during the regular season, with 56. Matt Carle received the Hobey Baker Award.
