Ottowa Senators Feb 2007 Season Update

During 2006 offseason, the Ottawa Senators lost four members to free agency. They also replaced Hasek with starter Martin Gerber from the Carolina Hurricanes and signed defenseman Joe Corvo from the Los Angeles Kings. Several days later, they traded Martin Havlat and Bryan Smolinski to the Blackhawks for the following players: Josh Hennessy, Michal Barinka, and Tom Preissing. In September 2006, the team announced that they had signed centre Alexei Kaigorodov from Russia to a two-year deal. Later, they signed blue liner Jamie Allison, and resigned Chris Neil, Antoine Vermette, and Peter Schaefer. The signed two-year contracts with Chris Kelly and Christoph Schubert.
