About Cirque du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil is an entertainment empire that is located in Montreal, Canada. It was founded 23 years ago by two street performers, Guy Lalibert and Daniel Gauthier. It was described as the contemporary circus. It focuses on a storyline and spectacular performances. It has many residents and touring troupes. In fact, it uses heavily the circus tradition. Cirque du Soleil does not use animals during performances as it makes emphasis on the use of humans as major performers. The shows combine elements of street performances and busking, opera, ballet, circus, and even rock music. Performances do not typically use pre-recorded music and during many shows, the spoken parts are done in Cirquish, which is an imaginary language invented by the company. Cirque shows start as a creative concept, including elements of a central story line, a design concept, and the selection of a music composer. These elements remain relatively constant throughout the production run of a given show. Cirque du Soleil recruits acts from various countries, including China, Russia, and more, and blending them into their own unique style. Cirque is considered as one of the world’s best circuses. In April 2007, thousands of fans will see a new touring show that is now in development at Cirque du Soleil International Headquarters. Its title has yet to be announced. According to their official website, The Mystic Pixies, which is a group of four teenage contortionists, as well as Joshua Zehner, and Jason Berrent will be a part of this show.
