Doodlebops Background Information

The Doodlebops presents a blend of dancing, singing, rhyming and even a few jokes. The entertainers are a colorful lot with an abundance of face paint and colorful wigs. There shows are diffinitely the hottest thing to reach the very young children. Much as the Wiggle has done in the past the Doodlebops have wont th hearts of preschool children everywhere.

Although they are a colorful bunch of entertainers, they can in fact entertain. Their make beautiful music that has a straightforward lecture attached but the preschooler doesn’t know this. Most of the tunes they play and sing are catchy tune and during the shows many of the children in the audience can be heard singing along with them. The Doodlebops are made up of three very talented musicians and entertainers.

DeeDee Doodle is really a young 23 year old named Lisa Lennox. DeeDee is usually dressed in purple and pink from her head to her toe and possess a very beautiful voice. DeeDee also is very proficient on the piano as well as doiung magic tricks. Lisa has been performing from the age of three. Prior to becoming involved with the Doodlebops she has done a small amount of performing for the Gemini Awards as well as her small role in the prologue of the TV series entitled Road to Avonlea. Lisa’s training is in the field of music and professional dance. Because of her vast love of the performing arts she attended the “Etobicoke School of the Arts” or commonly known as ESA, instead of the traditional type of high school.

When the Doodlebops first started out Canada, The crew including Lisa, Jonathan and Chad and the three spent seven months creating twenty six TV episodes. Lisa states that she loves to make children happy and enjoys being a part of a rock and roll group especially for preschoolers.

Moe Doodle is really Jonathan Wexler. He dresses predominate in orange and red colors while on the stage. He specializes in drum playing but also enjoys many of the children’s games that he duplicates on stage. Jonathan was born in London Ontario and was a member of the Kids Theatre Company.

Chad McNamara performs in the role as Rooney Doodle who is blue in color while on the stage. His chosen musical instrument is the guitar. Chad's professional credits include the Will Rogers follies where he played a western wrangler. The follies were shown for a period of two weeks in Ottowa Theaters during the months of November and December of 1995. In 2003 he also performed minor parts as a cast member in the “Mamma Mia” tour of Canada in 2003.
