About Lisa Lampanelli

Lisa Lampanelli graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in journalism before moving on to a graduate program at Harvard. She then worked as a copy editor for Popular Mechanics. She was also an assistant at Rolling Stone. She worked for Spy Magazine as a fact checker and then the first chief of research. In the early nineties, Lampanelli started doing stand-up in New York City. In 2002, she got some attention for the New York Friar’s Club Roast of Chevy Chase. She then went on to take part in the roasts of Pamela Anderson, William Shatner, Jeff Foxworthy, and Flavor Flav. She also frequently participates in The Howard Stern Show roasts.
In 2006, she taped Dirty Girl, a comedy special that aired on Comedy Central in 2007. The special was also released on DVD. She has appeared in So NoTORIous and was in negotiations with Fox for a sitcom pilot titled Big Loud Lisa. She has also appeared in many movies such as Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector (2006), Delta Farce (2007), and Drillbit Taylor (2008).
Lisa Lampanelli is known as an “insult comic” and has been dubbed the “Queen of Mean”. She is known for using the topic of race in her stand-up acts.
