Daytona 500 Qualifying Will Be Action Packed

Fans in Daytona will be getting their money's worth on February 6th as NASCAR has combined the two-day Daytona 500 qualification weekend into one day to avoid competing with Sunday's Super Bowl. Racing fans on Saturday will be able to see the Gatorade Duel followed by the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 of the ARCA series followed by the Sprint Cup Series' Budweiser Shootout. Fans will start the event with the Gatorade Duel setting the stage for the following week's Daytona 500 (Daytona 500 tickets are still available) as drivers battle for position in the following week's mega-race. Then one of the biggest names in racing, Danica Patrick, will make her much anticipated stock car debut in Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 driving the Go Daddy #7 Chevrolet. Patrick is coming of a career year in 2009 where she finished 3rd at the Indianapolis 500 and 5th overall in the IndyCar Series.

Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart, Kurt Busch and more of NASCAR's brightest stars will then compete in the 32nd Annual Budweiser Shootout. Hot off winning a Grammy for Best New Artist, the Zac Brown Band will perform before the Budweiser Shootout and after the race. Parking is free and there are a wealth of ticket deals and drink specials available for racing fans. I doubt there will be another NASCAR event all year where you get the same amount of entertainment for the price of admission. This Saturday should be a good time for those at the Daytona International Speedway.
