Considering its prime location in “The Live Music Capital of the World,” it should come as no surprise that the Austin City Limits Festival is always one of the year’s most highly anticipated events. This year, fans are even more elated than usual, as the festival has expanded to two full weekends of live entertainment, which will take place Oct. 4-6 and Oct. 11-13 at beautiful Zilker Park in downtown Austin, Texas. Though the Austin City Limits lineup has yet to be announced, the event’s history of featuring the world’s hottest artists is a good indicator of what’s to come.

Each year, over 130 bands from diverse musical genres like rock, country, folk, indie, hip-hop, reggae, and bluegrass descend upon the Texas state capital to perform on eight stages. In 2012, attendees were witness to acts like The Black Keys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Jack White, Iggy and the Stooges, The Roots, Avicii, M83, The Shins, Florence and the Machine, and Bassnectar.
