David Crosby Background Information
American singer, guitarist, and songwriter David Crosby is best known as a founding member of the bands The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSNY). David is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his work in the two bands. In early ‘70s, David Crosby released his first solo album, entitled If I Could Only Remember My Name. It featured contributions by Young, Joni Mitchell, Nash, as well as by the members of Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, and Santana. David Crosby and Graham Nash released several records as duo unsurprisingly known as Crosby & Nash.
Other popular songs that David Crosby wrote include “Time After Time”, “Where Will I Be”, “Foolish Man”, “Bittersweet”, “Carry Me”, and “In My Dreams”.
David Crosby has participated in electronica composer Ned Lagin’s project Seastones, together with members of Jefferson Starship and Grateful Dead. The musician also sang back up vocals on “Highway song” from the Hot Tuna record “Burgers”.
David Crosby appeared as a guest star in the episodes of The John Larroquette Show. He was playing the part of John Hemingway’s AA sponsor. The musician has also appeared on an episode of Roseanne. He played a pirate in the 1991 film Hook and a bartender in the 1992 feature film titled Thunderheart. David has voiced himself on 2 episodes of The Simpsons, “Homer's Barbershop Quartet” and “Marge in Chains”. In 2006, Crosby released Voyage Box Set (Rhino/Wea).
