2013 George Jones Tour Marks Final Run for Country Legend
Standing as arguably country music’s greatest living performer, country music legend George Jones is calling it quits, but not after taking over America one last time. The 81-year-old talent has been touring for over fifty years, but in hopes to spend more time with his family, he announced that “The Grand Tour” will be his last. The 60-date tour has been going on since mid-November, and it’s set to go through November 2013, with stops predominantly in the Southern, Midwestern, and Eastern United States. Fans who head out to these monumental shows can be sure to enjoy classic performances of timeless hits like “Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes,” “White Lightning,” and “He Stopped Loving Her Today.” As of now, the final show is set for Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on November 22nd. Tickets for the shows are on sale now.
Jones is a 1992 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee and can boast more than a dozen No. 1 hits to his to his name. He’ll be joined on stage by the contemporary country duo, Wilson Fairchild, who will serve as the opening act, and Jones himself hinted that “The Grand Tour” will feature plenty of surprise guests throughout the shows. Thankfully for fans, this isn’t the end of Jones’ music career, as he is still set to make a duets album with fellow country star Dolly Parton. Also, he will still play live on occasion. Either way, this is the last full-on rodeo for the icon, so make sure to get your George Jones tickets today to see him live.
