The Jammy Awards, which is well known as Jammys, is an awards show in support of bands called in general jam bands and some other artists allied with improvisational and live music. Jambands.com, Relix magazine and Peter Shapiro are the chief sponsors of the Jammys.
The very first Annual Jammy Awards took place on June 22, 2000 in New York City at Irving Plaza. It was sponsored and produced by Jambands.com, Dean Budnick and Peter Shapiro. Budnick hosted the Jammys with Peter Prince, and is the editor- in- chief of the Jambands.

The Jammys administrative producer Peter said that the thought for the show was to put together a night of music where they did not know what would in reality occur. The idea was to bring all the music artists together.
The Jammy Awards will come back in the year 2008 in New York City, at the Madison Square Garden in WAMU Theater. Rock legend Phish will be privileged with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the formal procedure which is to be apprehended on May 7, in the year 2008.
