American blues guitarist, singer, and producer Johnny Winter (John Dawson Winter III) began his performing career at the age of fifteen, when their newly formed band Johnny and the Jammers released "School Day Blues".
In one of his recent interviews for North Bay Bohemian, Johnny Winter explained his approach to music saying that most of the things that he does was fairly old.
The famous band Smashing Pumpkins paid homage to Johnny Winter recording an instrumental song named Tribute to Johnny. In the song, they try to resemble Johnny Winter's unique sound. In fact, it was originally intended for their highly acclaimed album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, however, was rejected and included in their box-set The Aeroplane Flies High.
During his tours, the musician performs his best songs from the past albums, including Johnny Winter, Second Winter, Johnny Winter And, Raisin' Cain, Guitar Slinger, Serious Business, Third Degree, The Winter Of '88, Let Me In, Scorchin' Blues, Live In NYC '97, I'm A Bluesman, and more.
