Jonny Lang Brief History and Background Information
Jonny Lang is a famous American Grammy-winning blues guitarist and singer.
In over ten years on the road, Jonny Lang has toured with many famous performers, including the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Jeff Beck, B.B. King, and Sting. In 1999, Jonny was invited to perform for a White House audience that included Mr. and Mrs. Clinton. The musician made a cameo appearance in the movie Blues Brothers 2000 and in The Drew Carey Show episode: In Ramada Da Vida in 1998. In 2004, Eric Clapton asked Jonny to perform at the Crossroads Guitar Festival with the intention to raise money for the Crossroads Centre Antigua.

During the period from 1995 to 2004, Jonny Lang's band included Paul Diethelm on guitar, Doug Nelson on bass, Bruce McCabe on keyboards, and Billy Thommes on drums. Unfortunately, Doug Nelson was killed in a traffic accident in 2000 and was soon replaced by Billy Franze. However, the latter was replaced by Jim Anton three years later. Saxophone player David Eiland was also added to the band in 2000. He provided Jonny Lang with extended instrumental jams. In 2005, Jonny Lang replaced the entire lineup, except for Jim Anton, and embarked on an acoustic tour. New guitarist of the group, Reeve Carney, became the Lang band's opening act for several shows during the 2005, 2006, and 2007 tours. The new group includes organist Charles Jones and drummer Barry Alexander.
Jonny Lang's newest release is the gospel-influenced Turn Around album, was released in 2006.
