One-man jam band Keller Williams is also known as K-Dub and the Jam-Man. Williams is a self-taught percussive and rhythmic musician typically playing on acoustic guitars.
Keller’s lyrics are usually humorous and often “nonsensical” with his liberal views on daily life, touring, and everyday activities. The musician often plays with the String Cheese Incident, as a jam group called the Keller Williams Incident. In 2005, Keller created a new band, Keller McGee, together with jam band Umphrey's McGee.
He records and under String Cheese Incident's label and sometimes uses his hometown studio, Wally Cleaver's Recording.
Keller Williams released his first album, Freek, in 1994. Some of his most popular songs include Passapatanzy, Take Me To the Tundra, Bob Rules, It's A Plant (420/24/7/365), Freeker By The Speaker, Kidney In A Cooler, Vabeeotchay, Dogs, One Hit Wonder, Brunette, Kiwi and the Apricot, Dear Emily, Moving Sidewalk, Stinky Green, and A Day That Never Was. The guitarist sometimes combines various music styles like bluegrass, alternative, folk, funk, reggae, dance, electronica, jazz, and other.
Keller Williams does many covers by musicians like Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, John Prine, Simon and Garfunkel, Michael Hedges, Grateful Dead, Todd Snider, Guns N' Roses, Michael Jackson, Ani DiFranco, Phish, Jimi Hendrix, and Kevn Kinney. In 2005, Williams released "Grass", on which he is accompanied by The Keels, Larry and Jenny Keel. The musician’s most recent album is entitled “Dream” (2007).
