About Lenny Kravitz

Lenny Kravitz was born on 26th march 1964 in New York City. Lenny is an American lyricist, singer, record producer and also a very good multi instrument player. He is popular for his retro music style that has a fusion of different elements like rock, funk, reggae, soul, folk, ballads and other music styles. He is the son of actress Roxie Roker who was a popular actress at that time with her TV character as Helen Willis in the television series “The Jeffersons”. Lenny's father was of Jewish descent and also a Russian. His mother was of Bahamian and American descent. His full name is Leonard Albert ‘Lenny' Kravitz.

Lenny does not only sing and do vocals well but he is also good at playing instruments like the bass, guitar, key boards, drums but can also do percussion and does his music recording himself. He holds the record of winning the Grammy awards for ‘Best Male Rock Vocal Performance' from 1999 to 2002, which is four years in a row. His albums are very successful and have sold about 30 million copies around the world.

He also won the MTV Video Music Awards in 1993 for Best Male Video in ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way?" and the British Awards in 1994 for the Best International male Artist and the Vogue Fashion Awards in 1998 for the Most Fashionable Artist, Male. His recent albums are "Calling All Angels", "Lady", Breathe", "Bring It On", "I'll Be Waiting" and "Love, Love, Love" which is his latest of 2008.
