Nickelback Gears Up for International Tour Dates
Still riding the success of the 2011 album, “Here and Now,” Nickelback is on track to experience a whirlwind international year. The group’s seventh studio album charted within the top 10 in more than 10 countries worldwide and was certified double Platinum in both Australia and Canada. For 2013, the Canadian rock band is gearing up for a set at the massive Rock in Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro on Sept. 20, joining the lineup with headliners like Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, and Bruce Springsteen. Nickelback will perform its festival set just before Bon Jovi, which also invited the band to open for its concert on Sept. 21, at Morumbi Stadium in Sao Paulo. Later on in fall 2013, Nickelback will travel to Europe for The Hits Tour, which will take the group to countries like France, Italy, and the U.K., among others, from October through November. Since breaking through to the mainstream at the turn of the millenia, Nickelback has proven to be one of the music industry's most successful rock bands at the box office and on the charts. Chad Kroeger and the band released their 7th studio album, Here and Now, last November and plan on supporting the new disc on the road. Beginning on January 20th, 2012 Nickelback tickets will go on sale to the general public. Nickelback will spend all of April, May, and June on tour in North America, touching down in a total of 39 cities. The Here & Now Tour will conclude with a homecoming show in Vancouver on June 26th at the Rogers Centre. Floor general admission tickets will be sold for the majority of tour dates. Bush, My Darkest Days, and Seether will serve as the tour's opening acts.
