It’s been a long time coming, but the wait is finally over. Late last night the 2013 Coachella Music Festival lineup was finally revealed, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have been named as one of the headliners. The Peppers are currently touring their latest release, “I’m With You,” in Australia, but they were sure to make time to hit up this California classic. This year’s show will again be a two weekend event, which will take place from April 12th through the 14th, and the 19th through the 21st, in Indio, California. The Chili Peppers are set to rock out live as the headliners on Sunday the 14th and the 21st. Before they hit the stage, other headliners like Phoenix and two recently-reunited stellar acts in the Stone Roses and Blur will take the stage. Tickets for this year’s Coachella festival go on sale next Tuesday, January 29th, at 1 p.m. ET.
Since its inception back in 1999, Coachella has been held at the Empire Polo Grounds, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have been headliners twice, both in 2003 and 2007. Over the years the Coachella lineup has become synonymous with quality, and this year is no exception with acts like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend, the Wu-Tang Clan, the Postal Service, Jurassic 5, Modest Mouse, Lou Reed, the XX, Sigur Ros, and Pretty Lights all playing. Considering the pride that the Chili Peppers take in California, you can be sure that the desert will be rocking come April, so get your 2013 Red Hot Chili Peppers now and see this iconic band live.
