The Whispers are a renowned R & B group based in Los Angeles. The band came into existence in 1963. It was founded by Nicholas Caldwell, Marcus Hutson, Gordy Harmon, Walter Scott and Scotty Wallace. They started singing as "The Eden trio". This was founded by Marcus Hutson and Nicholas Caldwell. They got the name "The whispers" from Lou Bedell. Initially the band recorded for Dore records. The band released "The time will come" and over the next few years released a lot of hit albums. In 1973 Leaveil degree replaced Harmon.
They were a very popular band right through the 1970s and 1980s. Their tracks "And the beat goes on", "Can you do the Boogie", "Out of the Box", "Rock steady" climbed the charts. They established the record label known as "Black tie record label".
The band has many albums to their credit in the 1970s and the 1980s including "Planets of Life", "Bingo", "One for the money", "The whispers", "Open up your love", and "Happy holidays for you". Some of their recent albums include: "Toast to the ladies", "The whispers", "Songbook, Vol. 1: The songs of Babyface", "For your ears only", and "The whispers Live from Las Vegas". The band was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in the year 2003. Some of the recent tracks that did very well in the charts include "Innocent", "My heart your heart", "I want 2B the 1 4u", "Is it good to you", "Make sweet love to me", and "Come on home". Marcus Hutson quit the band in 1989. He was not replaced by any other artist. They now tour extensively for their musical concerts.
