Rock and roll Renaissance Man Todd Rundgren has announced that just after the release of his upcoming, 24^th studio album, “Slate,”  he’ll be trotting across the globe on a 2013 world tour. As would be expected from an artist known for transcending all genre boundaries set in place, “Slate” is a 10-track effort that will blend everything from rock to electronic to soul, and it’s set for release in the United States on April 9^th. Shortly afterward, Rundgren will start his run at Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, New York, on May 5^th. From there, the heralded musician and producer will take his show to prime venues like The Gramercy Theatre in New York City, NY (5/10); Rex Theatre in Pittsburgh, PA (5/15); Bogart’s in Cincinnati, OH (5/18); and finish out at Varsity Theatre in Minneapolis, MN (5/20). Tickets for some shows are on sale now, while other will be available on February 15^th.

Right now, Rundgren is touring Australia and Japan along with Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band, and afterward he’ll play a few April shows in the U.S. with the string quartet, Ethel. After his dates in America in May, Rundren will play in Europe through mid-June, and then return to the States to celebrate his 65th birthday and host the second annual “Toddstock” in New Orleans, Louisiana, from June 17^th to the 22^nd. Over the years Rundgren has been known for his producing as much as his solo material, having done Meat Loaf’s “Bat Out Of Hell,” which is one of the most successful albums of all time.
