About Tom Petty

The second release for Tom Petty as a solo artist in 1994 was Wildflowers. Hit singles included in this release were "You Dont know How It Feels", "You Wreck Me", "It's Good To Be King", "A Higher Place" and "Honey Bee". After a year, the release of a 6 CD Box Set of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers came entitled Playback. About half were available on previous albums and the rest were b-sides, demos and live tracks.

1996 brought a "reunion" of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers which conceived a soundtrack to the movie She's The One which starred Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston. Three singles from this album were "Climb that Hill" , "Change the Locks" and "Walls (Circus)". A cover of Beck's "Asshole" was also included in the album.

Over the span of Tom Petty's music career, he has had 16 Grammy Nominations since 1981. The first nomination was that of Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group with Vocal for "Stop Draggin My Heart Around" and earned a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocal in 1989 fir his work with the Traveling Wilburys. Two more Grammy Awards were received in 1994 for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for the song "You Don't Know How It Feels".
