The Chicago Cubs locked up win number 40 Sunday night, with a 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Jason Marquis helped the Cubs avoid a sweep from the Dodgers, as he pitched six spectacular innings, giving up 3 hits, 1 walk and an unearned run. After both teams scored a run in the first inning, the Cubs added two more in the fifth, which proved to be the difference in the game. Mark DeRosa had 3 hits and 2 runs batted in. Kerry Wood pitched another perfect 9th for his 18th save of the year.
